The HEXAGON ENSEMBLE is a piano sextet consisting of
five wind players and a pianist. Not one library is safe from the six members of the Hexagon Ensemble. They search all over the world to find unknown or forgotten repertoire. Their quest has yielded a unique catalogue containing over 4,000 works: unknown pieces by wellknown composers as well as works by unknown composers. Their repertoire includes fascinating music, leitmotivs and catching titles: that’s Hexagon all over. The self-willed course pursued by the Hexagon Ensemble is expressed in the programmes they have recorded on CD, which are varied, surprising ánd balanced. In recording their CDs, Hexagon’s musicians do not impose themselves any restraints: famous highlights from music literature are interchanged with special works, discovered in libraries all over the world. This is how a CD collection came into existence, containing a pleasant and often surprising mix of wellknown and forgotten classical and contemporary repertoire. The ensemble has so far released seven wellreceived CDs. This new one mark the closing of the ... Connection series. |
