Heller et al don’t dissappoint … These members of the Villa-Lobos Society Chamber Players succeed in making this … piece [Quintet] sing and dance – no mean accomplishment. ... Bachianas Brasileiras No.6 has been recorded in the past, most notably by the composer … My palm goes to this Etcetera offering by dint of its better realization of the piece’s tropical longueurs, and its close-up timbrally colorful recording.
