The tryptich NEW, TROMBONE and COLLECTIVE presents this trombone ensemble in their best musical behaviour. Each CD takes an important pillar of the ensemble as its centre: newly composed works, individual musicianship and ensemble playing.

 

With NEW the ensemble makes an effort to show the trombones fi tness as a chamber music instrument. To this end the ensemble invites composers to be inspired by the ensemble, with great success and wonderful results! Although the NTC is internationally praised for its musicianship as an ensemble, it should also be noted that they are exceptionally gifted musicians individually, enabling ensemble playing of the highest standard..

 

TROMBONE is a listing of all their personal favourites to showcase their virtuosity. Because of these contributions and the guest musicians, Trombone is an adventurous CD, offering a great variety of instruments and styles.

 

COLLECTIVE gives an introduction to the NTC and their rapid development as a group. It is a collection of the most important pieces written for trombone ensemble, combined with new works composed for the NTC.

 

The New Trombone Collective was formed by nine befriended trombonists, all students from the Conservatory of Rotterdam. Each of them has built up successful careers with renowned orchestras and ensembles, but in 2001 their friendship drove them to the foundation of an ensemble. Since then the ensemble has claimed an incomparable

position nationally and internationally. They are all true masters on their instrument and make musicality, creativity and ´togetherness´ go hand in hand.
